In downtown Las Vegas on Saturday, everyone will be in holiday red.
Wait, not everyone. Blue man group It is showing.
The silent blue comedy group joins Jabbawakase As Grand Marshals, Opportunity Village’s Great Santa Run. The event begins with pre-race activities at 8pm at the Downtown Las Vegas Event Center. This is the first Santa Run at DLVEC at 200 S. 3rd Street.
The 5K and 1-mile “Wock” as a nod to Jabbawoke, starts at 10 am (registration is $45 until Wednesday, then it’s $55, go to lvsantarun.com for Intel). Children under 3 years old are free.
As is the tradition of the holiday, thousands of participants dress up as Santa and run through the downtown course in support of Village of Luck. Blue Man Band, Luxor favorite and MGM Grand headliners Jabbas should provide “antitics” for those on hand.

We want everyone to have as much fun as possible while helping raise funds to support Opportunity Village’s mission to employ, empower and serve people with disabilities.
About 8,000 people are expected to participate in this year’s event.

Holiday cheerleaders
The Raiderettes They’re leading the lineup of holiday shows at the Smith Center through the weekend.
David Perrico “A Christmas Show Featuring the Raiderettes” will be played at Myron’s on Friday at 7 p.m. A show featuring Perico’s 14-piece band, the Raiders’ official house band, may sell out, but if you must, shake a friend for a ducat. It’s “silver bells” and silver pom-poms when Myron turns to Tinseltown. (Sorry, went into blur mode there.)
The Las Vegas Philharmonic plays “A Very Vegas Christmas” Saturday at 2pm and 7:30pm at Reynolds Hall. Donato Cabrera Conducted by a special guest / partner / host Keith Thomson. Clore (always busy during the holiday season, with its Suncoast Showroom Holiday Show on Mondays) Vita Corrimby, Ellie Smith, Naomi Mauro And Doug Carpenter All are on the bill.
Clint Holmes “Another Year, A Celebration of the Holidays” is Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Meron. The legend of Checkmates Sonny Charles; Holmes’ stunning wife and actress, Kelly Clinton-Holmes; Holmes’ granddaughter Asia; Antonio Fargas, who originated the role of Huggy Bear on the ’70s network crime-drama series “Starsky & Hutch”; and the Las Vegas Academy Choir to perform.
Holmes shows are always heartfelt, and this is an annual holiday event, jam-packed with contemporary classics. And wear a scarf; Clint will.
In the next week, the show and the best drummer Bruce Harper And Mauro will be backed by a 17-piece big band and featured songs by Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim and more on Tuesday at 17 pm. Michael GrimLooking as good as ever, he returns with “Sleigh Bells Not Included” on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The show is a celebration of the holidays, the soul, and Grimm’s recovery from the health scare this past fall.

A joke in time
The “Race of Kings” holiday event “Twas the Knight” is running on Excalibur on Christmas Day. Medieval Jousts play out as audiences feast on a three-course meal of roast Cornish hen, sweet potato, corn on the cob, dinner roll and sugar cookie.
And a rep for the production confirmed, “There are no props in King Arthur’s kingdom.” Plan accordingly.
The family-friendly show, which opened in June 1990, runs from 6pm and 8.30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Alternate performances are December 20 at 6pm and 8:30pm. 6 pm and 8:30 pm December 23; and 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Christmas Day. Go to Excalibur.com for intel.
