Broncos lead Browns 14-6 at halftime


The Browns scored the last 6 points of Sunday’s game against the Broncos, but Denver still led 14-6 at halftime.

Cleveland had a first-and-goal opportunity at the 9-yard line late in the first half to put more than three points on the board. But two incomplete passes by Dorian Thompson-Robinson led Cleveland to a 24-yard field goal to go into halftime down by eight points.

Dustin Hopkins made a 36-yard field goal early in the second quarter.

The Broncos took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on Samaje Perrin’s 3-yard touchdown run, followed by Russell Wilson’s 2-yard touchdown run in the second.

Wilson is 5-of-12 passing for 66 yards. Despite a lost fumble, he is still rushing for 37 yards, including a 19-yarder.

Denver has 10 first downs and is 4-of-6 on third down against Cleveland’s defense entering this weekend.

Cleveland’s rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is 9 of 20 passing for 85 yards and 21 yards rushing. Amari Cooper has just one catch on three targets for 5 yards, while Cedric Tillman has four catches for 55 yards.

The Broncos receive the second half kickoff.
