• Yo Yakima Frozen Yogurt Shop at 2401 S. First St., Suite 100, was granted a building permit Oct. 26 by the city of Yakima to convert it to a fast-casual restaurant. The business is temporarily closed during construction.

• Among other holiday season events and specials, Valley Mall has opened an outdoor skating rink near the main entrance, between Fuji Restaurant and the former Bank of America building.
