Did you get a note on your door last weekend about the Kamp for Kids Food Drive? Please have non-perishable food, toys and/or toiletries in a bag, with a note, ready to be picked up at the door on the morning of December 9th. The boy scouts take the bag. Any monetary donations should be made directly to the Salvation Army at their office in downtown Fairmont.

Deck the Halls’ Believing in the Magic of the Christmas Tree, sponsored by the Civic and Commercial Club, will be below the theater this weekend at the Community Building in Sherburne. Tree decorating will be on December 1st from 5-8pm and voting for your favorite tree will be on December 2nd and 9am-1pm on Sunday, December 3rd. There will also be a vendor fair during those times. Sherburne Drama Club will be serving food from 5-7pm on Saturday and the Lions will be serving breakfast on Sunday. A special event on Saturday night at 1pm will be a free movie for kids and Santa will be there after the movie. Bring your camera.

The Sherburne Theater presents the Disney film Wish for December 1-3. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 4pm.

St. John’s Friendship Club will sponsor a breakfast at the Sherburne Legion on December 4th at 8:30 p.m. There will be a choice of scrambled eggs or biscuits and gravy.

CREST will hold a caregiver support group at Trinity Church in Trimont on Dec. 2 at 10 a.m.

The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be from 8am to 4pm on December 4th and 6th at the Sherburne Town Hall. Call (507) 238-8500 for an appointment.

Sherburne Town Council will meet for the first time on December 4 at 5 p.m.

Condolences to the Sherburne family of Betty Jo Hatfield who passed away recently. She misses him.

Martin County West athletes have a busy schedule.

-Tomorrow the men’s basketball team will play at Lake Crystal at 7 p.m., the gymnastics team will play at Jackson at 6 p.m., and the hockey teams will play at Waseca at 7 p.m.

-Girls basketball will be Dec. 1 at Sherburne vs. Nicollet at 7 p.m., and boys hockey at Winona at 7:15 p.m.

-The Warriors meet at Blue Earth on Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m., and men’s hockey travels to Sauk Center for a 1-hour match.

-Girls basketball will play Dec. 4 at Loyola at 7 p.m., and boys basketball will play Jackson at Trimont at 7 p.m.

-Gymnastics will be Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at Fairmont Live Fitness, girls basketball at Sherburne at 7 p.m. vs. Lake Crystal and boys basketball at Trimont vs. Nicollet at 7 p.m. Good luck Mavericks.
