Apparently, after her husband, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, came to power in 2015, Subianto in the February 2024 presidential election. If this is true, is it just because she followed her motherly instincts, or is it an example of her failure? Such allegations are surprising because people still know Iriana for her simple lifestyle. Unlike Indonesia’s previous first ladies, we never heard anything negative about her, especially Tien Soeharto, Soeharto’s wife who ruled the country for 32 years. After recently reading the story behind Michelangelo’s famous sculpture Madonna della Pieta, you might say that Iriana is exaggerating.
