A video that has now gone viral on social media shows Emily running to her father Thomas Hand. Another parolee, Hila Rotham, was seen hugging her uncle.

Emily was abducted while visiting Hila’s home in Kibbutz Beeri. Emily was initially believed to have been murdered. Before Emily’s release, Thomas told the Mirror, “We’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time. Each day has been a long and painful living nightmare.… My Emily will finally come home broken.

“Emily is back with us! After 50 trying and complicated days, we cannot find the words to express our feelings,” her family said in a statement to CBS News after her release.

“We are thrilled to embrace Emily again, but at the same time, we remember Raya Rotham and the hostages who have not yet been returned,” the statement added. We will continue to do everything we can to bring them home.

“We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has helped and supported us over the past 50 days until Emily’s return. “We appreciate your unwavering support as we continue our efforts to ensure the safe return of all,” the statement said.

Raya Rotham, mentioned by Emily’s family, is Hela’s mother. A mother and her daughter were captured by Hamas terrorists from the security room of their home on October 7th. Raya, 54, wrote to her brother at 12:05pm that she and her 13-year-old son had been kidnapped and taken to Gaza.

It was only on October 29 that the two Hamas hostages were confirmed. However, while Hilla was released on November 25 under a temporary ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel brokered by Qatar and the United States, Raya remains in prison, much to the dismay of family members.
