The University of Arkansas at Little Rock choir, clarinet and flute ensembles and faculty from the university’s School of Literature and Performing Arts will participate in the school’s fall choral concert. “Shakespeare in Song.” Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, Performing Arts Building, UALR, 2801 S. Tenants of Broadway “‘Tis the Season” on December 5, 2010 at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home’s Vada Sheid Community Development Center, 1600 S. College St., Mountain Home. Singers Brent Barrett, David Burnham and John Cudia, all with long Broadway credits, are supported by musical director/pianist Phil Reno. Micah Young, synthesizer; Mark Schmidt, bass; and Charles Descarfino, drums. It is part of the university’s 12th performing arts season with funding from the Ed and Lucretia Coulter holiday gift. Lisa GeertsenThe blacksmith and owner of Firelight Forge will give a talk at 6 p.m. Friday at the Windgate Center for Art and Design at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock. The lecture is part of the university’s artWORKS lecture series, which “seeks to provide participants with an enriching experience learning about art,” funded by the Windgate Foundation, according to a news release. Clinton Center Santas

The Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock, will change. Santa Central The next two Sundays. Chris Kennedy, Black Santa from North Little Rock (featured in the documentary film “Santa’s Camp”) will be the special guest of honor, Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.; Visitors can take photos (use your own camera and tag @clintoncenter when posting). There will be holiday music performances at the top of every hour.

Jerry Sanders dons the red suit and accessories, Dec. 10, noon-3 p.m., as the Center celebrates the Clintons’ first holiday season in the White House, 30 years. Visitors can make Christmas, Hanukkah and/or Kwanzaa holiday cards and crafts related to the 1993 White House Holiday Angels theme.

AMFA Audit

Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Children’s Theater will audition professional adult actors, Dec. 5, 6:30-8 p.m., for the Spring 2024 show, “Dragons Love Tacos” by Ernie Nolan with music by Chris LaPorte, based on the book by Adam Rubin, illustrated by Daniel Salmiri, performing arts theater at the museum. 501 E. Ninth St., Little Rock. Take a current head view, work experience and overall weekday and weekend availability. Come dressed to dance and get ready to play pretend games. Adults of all races, genders, backgrounds, and abilities are encouraged to listen. All cast and crew positions are paid. Rehearsals are Jan. 20-Feb. 29; Production dates are March 1-24. An appointment is not necessary, but it is a good idea to email theater@arkmfa.org if you plan to attend.
