Fantasy Basketball Week 6 Schedule Breakdown

0 25

Week 6 marks the point when the NBA schedule gets a little interesting. This is the final week of the in-season tournament, and the results will affect who gets to make the trip to Las Vegas and how the Week 7 schedule looks. In Week 6, 22 of the league’s 30 teams will play three games, and seven of the 22 will have to go back-to-back at some point. The fringe Celtics and Spurs are unlikely to offer much value because the teams only play twice, so it would be good to consider some of the players in the six teams that play four games. Let’s look ahead to week 6.

The 6th week games were played

4 games: DEN, IT, LAC, LAL, NOR, UTA

3 games: ATL, BKN, CHA, CHI, CLE, DAL, GSW, HOU, IND, MEM, MIA, MIL, MIN, NYK, OKC, ORL, PHI, PHO, POR, SAC, TOR, WAS

2 games: BOS, SAS

6 stories of the week

The group stage of the intra-competition is completed

Tuesday marks the division finals of the first annual intramural tournament, with only two teams (Indiana and the Lakers) advancing to the quarterfinals. Something to keep in mind regarding that six-game Tuesday slate is that three teams (Houston, Sacramento and Toronto) are also in action on Wednesday. The biggest injury concern of the three teams is Keegan Murray’s back injury, which has kept him out of Sacramento’s last two games. Tuesday’s game against the Warriors will be Sacramento’s first since Friday, which could be enough time to get Murray back on track. His presence will affect Chris Duarte as he is a substitute in the starting lineup.

There are no games scheduled for Sunday

The NBA schedule will be void of any action on Sunday (Dec. 3), with the NBA scheduling six games on Friday and 12 games on Saturday. Six of the 24 teams playing that Saturday will be in the second game of a back-to-back. That list includes New Orleans (Zion Williamson) and Phoenix (Kevin Durant), and both teams have been without several key contributors recently. Durant is questionable for Phoenix’s Nov. 26 game with a sore right foot, which should be considered. As for Williamson, he has yet to play both ends in back-to-back games this season. The good news for the managers who signed him is that the Pelicans are slated to play four games if that trend continues and he should still get three games. As for Durant, Phoenix will only play three games in Week 6.

The Celtics and Spurs will only play two games in Week 6

Boston and San Antonio will draw proverbial short straws in Week 6, and while the latter will finish Week 5 with a clean slate, the former will not. Kristaps Porzingis suffered a calf injury in Boston’s Nov. 24 loss to Orlando and is expected to miss the Nov. 26 game against the Hawks. Also, Jrue Holiday did not play with the Magic due to a sprained ankle. With Boston’s two games scheduled for Week 6 on Tuesday and Friday, putting either of the two into the weekly lineup might not do much good. As for San Antonio, the two games are on consecutive nights, with Atlanta visiting on Thursday and the Spurs heading to New Orleans for a game the following night.

Six teams will play their final game of Week 6 on Friday

Boston, New York, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Toronto and Washington are among the teams that will not play next Friday, which will affect how league managers, who allow daily roster updates, approach the lineup for Saturday’s 12-game slate. . Players like Gary Trent Jr. (Toronto) and Bilal Koulibaly (Washington) could be on the waiver wire at this position, but those are the players most managers would prefer to keep. Complicating matters is the Week 7 schedule, which won’t be set until the intramurals are completed on Tuesday night. All 30 teams play at least two games in Week 7, so there’s room for managers to fall back on.

How do Los Angeles-based teams handle their schedules?

In Week 6, the Clippers and Lakers have not only played four games each, but are on the cusp of five games in seven days. The good news for the Clippers is that Kawhi Leonard and Paul George remain healthy, and the injury management days common in years past will not be required. But will that change in Week 6, as the Clippers bounce back on Wednesday/Thursday? Also, Norman Powell had to leave the Clippers’ Nov. 22 win at San Antonio with a groin injury. He managed to play 28 minutes two nights later, but that’s another thing worth noting.

As for the Lakers, they are currently without Jared Vanderbilt (heel), Cam Reddish (groin) and Rui Hachimura (nose). As long as the recent trend of LeBron James and Anthony Davis being cleared to play after being listed on the injury report continues, they (and the fantasy managers) should be fine. Like the Clippers, the Chargers will be in action on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
