From December 1st to December 3rd, Lila Yoga Lifestyle is hosting a tour from acclaimed Jivamukti Yoga teacher Andrea Boyd.

Boyd has an impressive resume. She has taught in New York City, opened the only Jivamukti Yoga school in the United States outside of New York (in Charleston, South Carolina), was a lead consultant in the prestigious Jivamukti Teacher Training, has appeared in international publications and is an author and student of renowned Sanskrit scholar Dr. MA Jayashree.

A center that has emerged to give the gift of hearing with free hearing aids

The Emerge Center is a non-profit organization that helps children with autism and individuals with communication disorders find independence through creative and family-centered therapies. This holiday season, Gift of Hearing is giving away a free pair of hearing aids to an individual in need.

To enter the contest, individuals must submit an entry of 500 words or less explaining why they or someone they know would benefit from receiving a pair of hearing aids. The winner will be selected based on the following criteria.

• Desire to hear

• Need for money

• The possibility of influencing the recipient’s life

• The opportunity to make an impact on the lives of those you meet

Entries can be submitted online by visiting All individuals age 21 and older are eligible. Submissions will be accepted until December 31st and the winner will be notified by January 20th.

“In the true spirit of our ongoing mission to provide hearing care for the hard-of-hearing, I am thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to dramatically change the lives of people with hearing loss,” said Nicole Stockstill, lead audiologist at the Emerging Center.

The ‘Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show’ is coming to Baton Rouge

“The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show” America’s largest interactive comedy murder mystery dinner show is coming to Baton Rouge.

Beginning in December, shows will be held at the Holiday Inn Baton Rouge College Drive, 4848 Constitution Ave. Participants solve a challenging crime while eating dinner: the criminal is hiding somewhere in the room, and everyone in the room is obliged to find him. They themselves are prime suspects.

Shows are scheduled for December 2nd and December 16th, January 6th and January 20th, and February 3rd and February 17th. Showtimes are 6pm to 9pm and tickets start at $59.99.
