The request was contained in a letter dated November 22, 2023 signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Headship Affairs. Salami Momodu Ozigi Didat, and addressed the First Class Emperor.

The letter reads: “The state government has been notified that you have engaged yourself in a partisan role in the gubernatorial election that was deliberately conducted in Koji state.

“This is serious, especially since your actions, role and involvement in partisan politics have jeopardized the safety of your domain, the crisis that unfolded under your watch has left an innocent young woman injured, among many others. .

“This blatant act of yours is inconsistent with the expected duties of your role as a respected royal father. Your indifference when the much-cherished peace and security of the state is threatened by your actions is deeply troubling.”

“In light of the points listed above, you are requested to submit a written explanation within 48 hours as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against you. An oral explanation may be required from you when the state government sets up a panel to investigate your case.

“You are advised to give priority to the contents of this letter, please, Your Royal Highness.”
