Mark Cuban announces departure from Shark Tank after season 16

In a recent revelation on the All the Smoke podcast, billionaire businessman Mark Cuban, 65, shared that he will not be returning to the hit ABC series. Shark Tank After the upcoming 16th season.

“This is our 15th year, and next year, our 16th year, will be my last year,” he said on the podcast. “So I have a year to go.”

Cuba, who appeared as a guest for the first time Shark Tank Joined full-time in season 2 and third season, he said he believes “it’s time” to leave the show. While he confirmed his departure after the 16th season, the network has yet to officially confirm his departure.

Reflecting on the impact Shark TankCuban expressed his gratitude, “I love it because the American dream is alive and well.”

The entrepreneur emphasized his role in inspiring generations of kids, “Now we’ve got people who say I saw you when I was 10. I’m like, f—. But we’re helping them, right. ? I’ve invested in, I don’t know how many hundreds of companies.”

Cuban shared his insights from his time at Shark, “the harder it is to sell, the worse the deal,” and emphasizing the importance of short trades.

This isn’t the first time Cuba has suggested leaving Shark Tank. Last year, he told PEOPLE, “I’ve promised to come back for season 15 next year. But after that, you know, I don’t know yet.”

Family matters seem to be a key factor in his decision, Cuban admitted, “Family first, always. And so I wanted to try to make sure that I spent as much time as I could with my son, and as much as I could with my family.”
