Minutes apart, earthquake swarm strikes Pakistan, New Guinea, Xizang

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan on Tuesday, according to the National Seismological Center (NCS).

According to NCS, the earthquake struck at 3:38 am (IST) today.

The 10 km deep earthquake was located at 34.66 degree north latitude and 73.51 degree east longitude.

“Earthquake: 4.2, on 28-11-2023, 03:38:03 IST, Lat: 34.66 & Long: 73.51, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Pakistan,” NCS said in a post on X.

So far no injuries have been reported.

Meanwhile, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of New Guinea minutes before it hit Pakistan.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake was felt at around 3:16 am and struck at a depth of 10 km.

Similarly, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Xizang at 3:45 am at a depth of 140 kilometers.

Three earthquakes in different countries occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.
