The popular US website adds a list of locations North Korea claims to have photographed using a surveillance probe that began on November 21. Kim Jong Un, the state’s official media leader, said he had seen the latest images along with earlier photos of Rome, Anderson Air Force Base in Guam, Pearl Harbor and the US Navy Yard. Vinson aircraft carrier.

South Korea failed to shoot down one of North Korea’s spy satellites earlier this year, concluding that the technology was of little military value. While Seoul believes any North Korean satellite would be light at best, such technology would help the Kim regime target it as it develops its nuclear strike capabilities.

North Korea said the satellite would begin its spying mission on Dec. 1 after some fine-tuning, but the Korean Central News Agency said Tuesday: “The satellite’s calibration process is being rushed to end a day or two earlier.” He said.

There is no confirmation from the outside world that the satellite is operational and North Korea has not released the images taken by the new satellite to the outside world.

A White House National Security Council spokesman said the US could not independently verify North Korea’s claims. The spokesperson said that the United States condemns the launch of a space launch vehicle using ballistic missile technology, saying it violates the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.

North Korea has a history of conflict over satellite claims. Under the leadership of Kim Jong Il – the current leader’s father – North Korea says it has put a satellite into orbit that plays revolutionary songs, while Washington says the probe may be under the sea.
