At Platinum Dry Cleaners, brothers and co-owners Chris and Craig Bamberg invested more than a quarter of a million dollars in robotics technology this year to modernize their business and rehabilitate what they consider their most important asset—employees.

This year, Bambergs spent about $200,000 on a custom-built Italian machine called the Giulietta. Wrapping their clean clothes in plastic wrap, the brothers allowed the two workers who had previously done this work to take them to the quality control area.

Platinum Dry Cleaners, which has been in business for 35 years and has locations in Naples and East Naples, has 14 employees.

“What this technological innovation has done for us is that it has helped us to remove people from the robot, from everyday tasks, such as packaging,” said Craig Bamberg. “You can automate that, and you can take that trained eye and that trained craftsmanship and bring it back to the quality control that’s needed for space and steam and proper pressing. Now the clothes have that trained eye. It’s a quality product, always, with a more superior offering.” .

Bamberg also spent about $60,000 on a high-tech machine called a cyclone to press shirts.

“It helps us manage our manpower and hours,” said Chris Bamberg. “We’ve created efficiencies. We’ve got a really good crew.”

Bambergs also streamlined his business. When shopping in 2019, there were four retail locations from Marco Island to Bonita Springs. When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, business didn’t just slow down, it shifted online.

Because the lease is up on the two retail locations, the Bambergs decided not to renew. Instead, they covered the states in Bonita Springs and Marco Island by changing the line And Creating a mobile phone application.

“Nobody’s fired,” said Craig Bamberg. “Instead of delivering and picking up twice a week We took them where they were.

We live in a world of Door Dash and Amazon. And customers want to order from their device and have it delivered to their driveway. They want information. They are no different than pizza and grocery delivery.
