THUNDERVILLE, Pa. – A popular Poconos resort is celebrating the holidays with an exciting new event.

The Camelback Resort at 301 Resort Drive in Tannersville will offer Winter Village – holiday vendors, holiday entertainment, seasonal foods and more, Dec. 1-24, according to a news release.

On Friday, Dec. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., the festivities will begin when Santa Claus descends from Pocon City Fire Engine 34 Tower at the Lake Kahuna Tide Pool.

Joined by local first responders and Marines supporting Toys of Monroe County, Santa will light Camelback’s majestic 25-foot Christmas tree.

The snow-covered Winter Village, created by the resort’s summer wave pool, offers a variety of “shops” vendors decorated with red garlands and lights, just like among friends – a source of children’s resale.

In addition to vendors selling crafts and gifts, the event includes holiday entertainment, family-oriented activities, cozy bonfires, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of holiday cheer.

Winter Village hosts community service and giving back campaigns, including the Toys for Tots Drive, animal non-profits and supports first responders and other supporting organizations.

Weekend hours are Fridays 5-9pm, Saturdays 1-9pm and Sundays 11am-3pm.

The Dec. 1 grand opening begins at 7 p.m., with Engine 34 approaching the mountaintop with lights and sirens and Santa escorting him to the new Camelback Winter Village.

Santa is scheduled to light the tree at 7:30 p.m., outdoor photos with Santa, refreshments and holiday activities starting at 8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public (parking is great too).

Visitors who bring a new, unwrapped toy ($10 to $30 value) will receive a custom reindeer pillow as a thank you.
